You know, after just seeing the sun peer through the clouds there, it made me wonder about the Matrix and something that really didn’t make sense to me.

Why didn’t the robots build a massive tube up in to the sky to block the clouds from covering it completely?
It’s not as if they will ever even need to go near the sky.
You build a few posts, raise it, build more below, raise them, build more below them, and so on.
Eventually when it is in the sky, you start work on building a huge tube that will be pulled up the poles (imagine a tube shaped flag) and create an opening in the clouds.

It’s not like they need to care for resources much, they have the whole Earth that they can take apart and re-arrange in to whatever they wanted to.

So much for smart robots.
